I'm back

Whoa! It's been a crazy four months. I feel like I skipped straight through the summer in some ways. How is it October? This two-kid thing has really thrown me for a loop, but I am getting it down. The baby went to sleep at eight last night which helped free up my night to get things done. I haven't been much of a deal shopper the past few months, but you know, that's ok. Sometimes we need to take the pressure off ourselves. We survived. We used a lot of what we had and paid full price on some items (*gasp*). It is important when we are getting burned out that we take a step back and focus on what is really important (our family). Summer

It's summer and it finally feels like it to me. What are you doing for fun? We just got back from a family reunion. Have you been to see a FREE movie? Are you trying to keep cool at the pool? I have been taking classes over the summer semester (I know, what was I thinking!) so we haven't done many of the fun things I would like to do. If you have kids, remember that there will always be another deal. For me, I would rather use my time right now making memories with my kids. Today we are going to have a picnic at the park. Fun 4th of July Recipes

I love holidays and I love planning parties. I already have my kids' next birthday parties planned. I found this super fun rainbow jello recipe (although I am thinking of just rotating red, white and blue this time).

Here's the recipe courtesy of Food and Beverage Recipes

INGREDIENTS

7 sm. pkgs. sugar free Jello*
1 (15 oz.) can evaporated skim milk
*(2 lime, 2 lemon, 1 strawberry, 1 orange, 1 raspberry)

DIRECTIONS
1. Mix lime Jello and 1 cup boiling water. Dissolve 15 minutes. Add 1/2 cup cold water. Pour in 9 x 13 inch pan. Set 1 hour.

2. Mix lemon Jello with 1 cup boiling water. Dissolve 15 minutes. Add 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Pour over lime layer. Set 1 hour. Continue in the same manner:
Strawberry and water
Orange and milk
Raspberry and water
Lemon and milk
Lime and water

Note: You will need to make this ahead. It will store for up to 1 week.
