Print these coupons! Fruit Snacks 5 Star Deal!!!

Starting Wednesday Albertsons is going to have Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks on sale for $1.
There is a current catalina going on right now: When you buy 5 boxes you get a $3.50 catalina!

There are $0.50 off 2 coupons HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. Print as many as you can. Print today because they will reset tomorrow and you should be able to print more!

With the coupon you get them for $0.10 a box, without the coupon they are $0.30!

Here's how it will work:
Buy 5 @ $1 each=$5
Use 2 $0.50 off coupons=$4 OOP
Get a $3.50 catalina for a final price of $0.50 for 5 boxes!!!

Then do it again and use your $3.50 catalina on your next transaction:
Buy 5 @ $1 each=$5
Use 2 $0.50 off coupons=$4
Use your $3.50 off catalina=$0.50 OOP
Plus, get another catalina!

Note: you can try using doublers too and make money on these. You will have to add another box or 2 to your 2nd transaction because your total can't be less than the tax amount. Here is what it would look like if you store doubles coupons that say Do Not Double. Albertsons is doubling the coupon, not the maunfacturer so technically they should double all coupons since their "Twice the Value" coupons do not disclude coupons that say Do Not Double. I have experienced both ways: some do, some don't.

Buy 5 @ $1 each=$5
Use 2 $0.50 off coupons
Use 2 doublers for another $1 off==$3 OOP
Get a $3.50 catalina for a $0.50 money maker on 5 boxes!!!

Then do it again but buy 7 boxes (Buy 6 if you aren't using coupons. If you are using a coupon then buy 7 so you can double them and not go below zero with the coupons and catalina).
Buy 7 @ $1 each=$7
Use 3 $0.50 off coupons
Use 3 doublers for another $1.50
Use your $3.50 off catalina=$0.50 OOP for 7 boxes
Plus, get another catalina! Factor in the catalina and you make $3.50 on 12 boxes!

Either way it's a great deal. I won't complain about $0.10 a box. :)

Thanks Fabulessly Frugal!

Update on the Albertsons GM Promo

I haven't been able to get to Albertsons until today to check on how the $7 catalina is working. I have heard that the catalina was printing whether you used coupons or not (as long as you have $20 worth of participating products) but verified it today.

I purchased 8 Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters at $2.50 each=$20
I used 8 $1.60 off coupons (you can use a $1 off printable--5 links are on my original post HERE)=$7.20

Your total with 8 $1 off coupons would be $12 OOP, minus $7 from the catalina=$5 FP or 62.5 cents each (I haven't printed these yet, if they don't say Do Not Double then you could get them for $4 OOP and get a $7 catalina for a profit of $3--anyone printed this one?)
(Then I used my $1 catalinas from buying Prego) and paid $1.40 OOP

I did get a $7 catalina. I only did one transaction because doublers come out tomorrow!

I will have Doublers Deals posted for you tomorrow.

Treat Deals: Peanut Butter Blossoms with Reese's

My good friend Leanna over at ARainyDayMom is a fabulous cook and mom. She made us some delish peanut butter cookies with Dove chocolate on top for Valentines Day. I had to get her recipe because the cookies were delish and not too dry (which somehow mine always are!) Here is her recipe (and check out all her cute ideas on her blog):

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup Shortening
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Sugar
chocolate for the center (Kisses, Reese's, Dove, etc)

DIRECTIONS:
1. HEAT oven to 375°F.
2. CREAM together shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat well.
3. STIR together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Beat on low speed until stiff dough forms.
4. SHAPE into 1-inch balls (Leanna and I make them bigger). Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
5. BAKE 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. (Make sure they don't overbake!)
6. TOP each cookie immediately with an unwrapped chocolate piece, pressing down firmly so that cookie cracks around edge. Remove from cookie sheets to cool.

Enjoy!

Gymboree Kid & Baby Sale

Ok, so you know I love deals. I also love shopping for my daughter (and little boy on the way). I happen to love Gymboree, Gap, and all the expensive stores, but I don't love their prices (who does?). But there are some ways to score some great deals (like Target prices) on name-brand clothing.

The most obvious tip is to use a coupon on sale and clearance items. I often buy ahead for next year at the end of season when prices are super low. Last fall I scored shorts for $3.99 and tops for about $3.99-4.99 (plus I used a coupon and got an additional 20% off). I try to buy only the type of fabric that will last longer (not t-shirt material). These don't show wash wear so I feel like I get more for my $$$. Coupons are often in magazines (Parents, Disney, etc).

This outfit from Gymboree cost me $5 bucks.

Another tip is to resell your used name-brand clothing. I sold a few years worth of my daughter's fall clothes at the beginning of fall last year for about $600 on ebay. I was shocked! I always start my auctions low--at $0.99 which gets a lot of watchers and bidders. I offer combined shipping and make sure to ship quickly. I was able to buy clothes for her (on ebay and on sale) in her size and the best part is that this fall I can do it again! Don't get me wrong, I love Target and even WalMart (sometimes), but if you want you can find deals on these too!
Visit Gymboree's sale HERE. If you are lucky enough to live by a Gymboree Outlet HERE is a 15% off coupon. Look for a coupon in Parenting magazine.

My Walgreens Deals

I had a bunch of $4 RRs that were expiring soon (from the Fusion and Venus razor deal). This month the hubs' favorite hair product, Got2B, is buy 1 get 1 free (so 2 for $5.99). Some had a smaller sample attached! I ended up buying a lot, 12 to be exact. I had $36 in RR so I purchased 6 and got 6 free. I got 5 packs of seeds for $1 (with in ad coupon). The Excedrin was free with my coupon (I posted about HERE) but you can print two HERE (money maker alert! Get a $2 RR! You make $1.50!)

My total was about $1! I got $81.83 worth of items! I only had to do 1 transaction. Plus, I got a $2 RR from the Excedrin! If you like this hair product brand they are still on sale until the 28th. Don't forget to check your RR expiration dates! The other items are on sale through Saturday.

Dreyers Ice Cream $2.99 -$1 off (SS 1/31)=$1.99 FP (I'd wait for doublers)

General Mills Promo:
Spend $20 and receive a $7 catalina coupon (off your next purchase).
The fine print says you must spend $20 after coupons and sale prices which is not how it has been in the past. The deal is definitely not as good this way. I was told by my store manager that some things were changing and Albertsons corporate office was taking over and changing some things in regards to couponing and deals. I hope this is not going to be the case for future deals. If anyone has tried this deal let me know how it worked for you. Thanks!

UPDATE 2/27: The catalina is printing whether you use coupons or not as long as you purchase $20 worth of participating products. The coupons are not affecting it printing. You can decide which way you want to do it. I kind of feel like if the store was worried about it then they would stop it or not give it to me so that is what I went off when I went to the store today.
UPDATE: This is how I would look at this deal: You have to spend more out of pocket, but you also get more items. Add up the total of your item after coupons (in bold for you below). Print off this list and highlight the items you are getting and how many of each. Keep your transaction as close to $20 as possible.

These items are basically 35% off the price after coupons when you factor in the catalina (not reflected below).

Meal Deals: Swiss Chicken

I've got another easy peasy recipe for you. This one is from my mom's cousin Sue again. You can see her blog HERE. Seriously though, this takes like 5 minutes (or less) to prepare. My favorite kind of cooking: fast, easy, and yummy!
4 to 6 chicken boneless skinless chicken breasts (not pictured)
Swiss cheese, sliced (or shredded)
1 can cream of chicken soup
¼ cup milk
2 cups bread crumbs or croutons (whatever floats your boat, or whatever you have!)
1/3 cup butter, melted (no I did not use the whole cube in the pic.)

Place the chicken in a 9x13" casserole dish. Top with cheese. (I don't like raw meat pics.)

Mix the cream of chicken soup and milk.

The milk thins it out like you see here:

Spoon soup mixture over chicken and cheese.

Sprinkle bread crumbs over the top of the chicken and top with melted butter.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour (I used chicken tenders and it was ready in about 40 minutes).
We like to eat it with rice. Enjoy!

New Restaurant.com Code 80% off

Just enter discount code SAVOR at checkout and score 80% off certificates. This makes a $25 certificate just $2. Gift Certificates are good for 1 year! Use this code through 02/28/2010.

If you haven't used Restaurant.com click HERE to read all about it. They have restaurants nationwide so if you are going on a trip this is a great way to save money when eating out!

We went out to dinner for Valentines Day and our meal (with appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 take-home desserts) would have cost about $50 with tip but we only paid $20. The servers have told me they like when customers use these certificates because often times it guarantees their tip (part of the stipulations when using the certificate).

THE Binder

**My Beloved Binder, complete with zipper and pouches**
I have ideas of how to organize your coupons HERE but I thought I would show THE Binder. I recently upgraded to this binder with a zipper and I love it! It was about $8 at Wal-Mart and worth every penny.

Here are some inside shots:

(Love the see-thru pouches so I remember that I have rain checks!)

Another pouch for my catalinas and register rewards (and my $2 coupon for completing a survey)

My dividers (also from Wal-Mart). They are plastic so they are extra sturdy.
You can just write your categories on the top.

My Refrigerated Items Section.
These are baseball card pockets and work great. Sometimes I have to fold the coupon but I still can see what I have and they don't fall out. Available at Wal-Mart in the front by baseball cards.

The accordion file on the side. This is where I keep my copy of the store ad, Walgreens monthly coupon book, a small pair of scissors, and misc. items.

Note to self: Do not get distracted with your 4 year old (on top of pregnancy brain) and leave your binder in the cart in Walgreens parking lot. (Oh yes I did. Luckily I realized it before I got home and it was still there. Seriously though, I would have cried if I lost it.)

For a list of the categories I have visit HERE.
